Destination Wedding in Rosario, Argentina
On March 21 I had the opportunity to fulfill one of the top 5 goals on my list which was to shoot a destination wedding in my country of origin, Argentina. Of course this was possible with the help of other people, primarily Claire Barrett who got me in touch with the couple. Thanks a million Claire!!! Networking: I met Claire while having lunch during Pictage's Partner Conference 2008... we sat at the same table, I noticed Claire's British accent so we started talking about our respective countries and then she mentioned she knew 'a gorgeous couple that look like models' and that they were getting married in Argentina and then she asked for my business card to forward my info to them. It was meant to be, it turned out that the bride's parents live 2 minutes away from my house so that's where we met for the first time.
The reception was in Rosario, Argentina at a beautiful venue by the Paraná river called Puerto España Eventos. The bride, Carolina, coordinated the entire wedding via phone, email, with the help of family and friends and in person by traveling a couple of times to Rosario to deal with vendors. Everything was impeccable.
Totally legal guys ;-) it's called mate and yes, it's a beverage but it's way much more than that...

Ian getting ready for 'the first look'

The first look took place at Silos Davis where the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rosario is located.

Palacio Cabanellas is a historic building in Rosario, Argentina. It was built in 1916 under the direction of Luis B. Laporte. It is one of very few examples of Modernisme (Catalan-style Art Nouveau) found in Rosario.

The religious ceremony took place at Nuestra Señora de Lourdes Rosario

Of course we couldn't skip a visit to the gorgeous Monumento a la Bandera (National Flag Memorial). We got there after the religious ceremony around 10pm and got a bunch of photos taking advantage of the great lightning.

Prints from their engagement session in Venice were hanging all over the place

Instead of throwing the garter, the groom throws a bottle of whiskey to the single guys!

Sale con Fritas kept everyone jumping and dancing during their performance

Shooting Caro and Ian's wedding was an incredible experience not only because of the location but also because of the people involved, their friends and family were amazing to 'work' with.
I also have to thank my new buddy Mariano Leiva who helped me on this wedding and during my whole stay in Argentina. Everything was SO MUCH EASIER by having him by my side. THANKS MARIANO!
If you need a great photographer with an amazing personality which will make you and your friends and family feel super-relaxed, don't hesitate to give Mariano a call, you won't regret it! He works around Funes, Fisherton, Rosario, San Lorenzo, Santa Fé, Buenos Aires and soon THE WORLD!

Gracias a todas las personas que hicieron posible este hermoso evento!

Rodolfo, buenisimo el trabajo. Que suerte que Mariano te haya acompañado en tu estadia en Argentina!
Ruben! There you are. You disappeared after selling me that Nikon lens with fungus in it, even though you said you'd pay for the repair.
How about paying your bill?
